New and Fearful Dog Safety

A lost dog is many dog owners' worst fear. Being in rescue and training fearful dogs, I know of many dogs that escape their new homes.  Many times these dogs are afraid, but sometimes the dogs just want to jump the fence to have some fun.  Prevention and taking precautions are key. The first step is realizing this can happen to you and your dog. Don't take unnecessary risks like not using a leash or leaving car windows open too far. When newly adopted dogs get lost in areas they are not familiar with and by people they do not have a relationship with, it can require unnerving days, or even months, of effort to locate and trap the dog. A newly adopted dog, or even a long term resident, can escape from a yard, house, leash, or car quickly. Many lost dogs could be prevented with a few safety precautions.  Please CLICK ON THE "Download File" by the Adobe symbol to use this easy to use resource for rescues, shelters, trainers, and dog adopters or owners.
